What Drives Us: The Purpose Behind Cap Six

At Cap Six, our story starts with something personal: a shared belief that the investment industry can—and should—do better. We came together from different paths but with a common purpose: to challenge outdated models, serve investors with transparency and care, and build something that reflects both innovation and integrity. For each of us, Cap Six is more than a firm—it’s a team, a mission, and a chance to create something lasting.

Coble Jorgensen (Founder and Chief Executive Officer)

A lifelong investor, I have always believed that great investing isn’t just about chasing better returns—it’s about process, integrity, and accountability. As a fiduciary, I need to know we are using the best possible tools and the most honest approach. What really matters is how decisions are made.

In this industry, returns come and go. But understanding the reasoning behind investment choices—what data you are using, what risk you are taking, what you are optimizing for—is what separates long-term success from short-lived luck. A transparent, replicable process matters because markets are unpredictable by nature. Without a disciplined approach, consistency is impossible.

Discipline is also fundamental to being a fiduciary. You are accountable—not just to your clients, but to the process itself. You need to be able to explain your decisions, adapt as conditions change, and ideally, repeat what works.

Cap Six became the next logical step for me when I was ready for a new chapter in my life. I saw an opportunity to push myself further—to rethink traditional models and challenge the status quo. I always challenge myself to be a lifelong learner, so I dove headfirst into coding and data science to better understand the tools reshaping our industry. If I was going to lead an investment firm it needed to be built on principles rooted in both intellectual rigor and real-world accountability.

Our team at Cap Six is committed to constant improvement. We refine our models. We stress-test our ideas. But we never compromise on our core values: transparency, accountability, and replicability. That’s the foundation of every strategy we build. And we seek out relationships with clients who share these values.

Because at the end of the day, the goal isn’t just to outperform—it’s to understand why we do, and to build something that can stand the test of time.

Jeff Jorgensen (Chief Investment Officer, Portfolio Manager)

I’ve spent my career in traditional asset management, investment banking, and law, managing billions in capital and advising on even more. I’ve seen firsthand how the industry operates—how it sells stories over substance, defends legacy processes, and resists change even when the data is clear.

As a competitive person, that never sat right with me. I don’t want to play the same game; I want to do it better. I’ve always believed that great investing requires a relentless drive to improve—to research more companies, use better tools, assess risk with greater precision, and constantly refine decision-making.

But the industry doesn’t always reward that mindset. Bureaucracy slows innovation. Complacency masquerades as discipline. And far too often, firms operate without even measuring what actually works.

Cap Six is my answer to that frustration—and to the opportunity that technology now presents. Data, AI, and cloud computing have fundamentally changed what’s possible, but most firms haven’t evolved with them. At Cap Six, we embrace these tools without abandoning the art and judgment of human decision-making. We focus on process over personalities, data over dogma, and probabilities over predictions.

Cap Six isn’t about tradition. It’s about progress. And for me, progress is never finished. There’s always a way to be better—to push harder, think smarter, and sharpen the edge. That’s what drives me every day.

Rachel Gilbert (Chief Operation Officer)

My journey into the world of investing began in an unexpected place—my middle school gifted program. It was there, during a stock market game, that I first felt the spark of curiosity for how money moves and grows. That early experience stuck with me and planted the seed for what would eventually become a deep passion for finance and entrepreneurship.

My professional introduction to investing came through a role in Investor Relations, where I quickly learned that strong communication and understanding your investors are critical components in finance. Soon after, I assumed the role of Director of Operations, and through that lens, I witnessed firsthand how even the most successful businesses always have room for improvement, innovation, and efficiency.

What truly drives me, though, is the entrepreneurial spirit—the thrill of building something, solving problems, and creating value. I’ve always been drawn to the challenge of growing a business and finding smarter, better ways to operate, which in turn benefits our clients. I’m committed to providing a better, more thoughtful alternative for the people who’ve spent their lives working hard to build their wealth.

Todd Reesing (Chief Growth Officer, Client Portfolio Manager)

Throughout my career, I’ve seen how traditional investment strategies can fall short—whether through persistent underperformance or rigid approaches that no longer meet the evolving needs of investors. At Cap Six, we view performance as essential, but believe it’s best achieved through a forward-looking, repeatable process—guided by data, informed by experience, and built to adapt. Equally important is delivering an exceptional client experience—defined by responsiveness, transparency, and a deep understanding of each investor’s goals. Investors deserve both: strong outcomes and a partner fully invested in their success.

What drew me to Cap Six was the firm’s entrepreneurial spirit and relentless commitment to innovation. I saw a unique opportunity to help build something from the ground up—an investment firm reimagining how public equity strategies are designed, delivered, and experienced. Our focus on separately managed accounts (SMAs) is intentional. SMAs offer real advantages—transparency, tax efficiency, and customization—that we believe should be more accessible to investors of all sizes.

I’m thrilled to be part of an all-star team at Cap Six. As a former athlete, I bring a competitive mindset to everything I do—always looking for ways to improve, challenge ourselves, and raise the bar. My role is to help educate and empower our clients by translating our process, philosophy, and insights into tools they can use to better serve their investors and grow their businesses.

What excites me most is the opportunity to help drive meaningful growth—for the firm, for the advisors and institutions we partner with, and ultimately for the investors we all serve. I’m passionate about building something truly differentiated—delivering results and a great experience. And I get to do it alongside a team of smart, talented, high-character people—which makes the work not only fulfilling, but fun.

David Rapozo (Executive Vice President, Business Development)

Throughout my career, I have been driven by a core belief: that I can make the world a better place to invest. Perhaps that sounds a bit idealistic, but that simple idea has guided me through roles at some of the industry’s most respected firms—and kept me focused on what truly matters: clients.

To me, making the world a better place to invest means things like simplifying complexity, or improving tax efficiency—for example, helping investors move from mutual funds to ETFs, and then moving from ETFs to SMAs—and building a transparent, repeatable investment experience.

It is a simple litmus test for me: does something make the world a better place to invest, or not?

Most investment firms place far too much emphasis on offering a wide array of products. Product proliferation may support a business model, but it rarely serves investors. In fact, it often makes choices harder, not easier.

That is why I have always chosen to work with firms that prioritize process, research and, above all, integrity. Better investments lead to better outcomes—and that is what we are building at Cap Six: a systematized, repeatable investment process grounded in research, high conviction, and clarity of purpose.

When I first spoke with Jeff Jorgensen about Cap Six, I immediately saw the potential. The firm’s approach is thoughtful and data-driven—an innovative way to deliver performance through focused stock selection in separately managed accounts.

What truly sealed the decision for me was the team. From our very first meeting, I could feel the energy. There was a real sense of shared purpose. The people here are smart, passionate, kind, and committed to doing the right things the right way. We are building something big here. I knew I wanted to be part of it.

Earlier in life, I served in the United States Marine Corps—an experience that shaped the way I lead and the way I live. The Marines taught me discipline, accountability, and the deep satisfaction of serving and protecting others. In many ways, that is what my work is about as well: protecting what matters, helping people navigate uncertainty, and building trust through actions.

I have learned to trust my instincts, and when a great idea is paired with an intentional, forward-driven team, we really can make the world a better place to invest.
